The International Agency for Research on Cancer

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is the specialized cancer agency of the World Health Organization. The objective of IARC is to promote international collaboration in cancer research. The Agency is interdisciplinary, bringing together skills in epidemiology, laboratory sciences, and biostatistics to identify the causes of cancer so that preventive measures may be adopted and the burden of disease and associated suffering reduced. A significant feature of the Agency is its expertise in coordinating research across countries and organizations; its independent role as an international organization facilitates this activity. IARC has a particular interest in conducting research in low- and middle-income countries through partnerships and collaborations with researchers in these regions.

Studio Interrobang

Studio Interrobang is a design agency specialized in data visualization and information design based in Bucharest, Romania. Combining an expertise of design and communication, the team aims to overcome the limitations of basic diagrams and graphs through creative and easy-to-navigate visualizations. From infographics and reports to complex dashboards, their work is grounded in data and turned into useful visual narratives. As part of 4P-CAN, Studio Interrobang will develop the structure and integrate data from throughout the project and generate the country-specific profiles – dashboards – that would consider the meta-level (European), macro-level (National), meso-level (regional) and preparing for the micro-level (individual) integration.

All.Can International

All.Can International is a global multi-stakeholder network for cancer care efficiency, aiming to improve health outcomes for cancer patients around the world – from prevention to post-treatment quality of life. We do so by generating, promoting and advocating for evidence-based and measurable improvements in cancer care research, policy and practice. As a partner organization of 4P-CAN, All.Can’s contribution will consist in leading the Work Package focused on multi-stakeholders co-creation of cancer primary prevention policy recommendations.

Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS

Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS (FPG) is located in Rome and is one of Italy’s leading hospitals. It provides health services in all clinical and surgical areas and is recognized as a leading oncology hospital, with more than 40,000 services provided annually. It is also a Reference Center in the Lazio Region for many high-complexity diseases, both in children and adults. FPG will participate in the activities of governance and management of the project, and it will play an important role in the mapping and assessment of national policies, legislations, and regulatory frameworks about alcohol, food, and sugar-sweetened beverages. The results will allow to support the creation of personalized communication campaign for ECAC 5th edition in Italy. FPG will participate in the co-creation of a set of recommendations to foster the adoption and implementation of the 5th edition of ECAC and it will support the creation of synergies with other innovative ongoing projects in the field of prevention, such as PROPHET.

CUMO

CUMO is a national association of medical oncologists that brings together specialists who deal with the detection and treatment of oncological patients. The main goal of our Association is to promote public health policies that will lead to the improvement of the health of oncology patients and the entire population of residents in Montenegro. In 4P CAN project primary task of CUMO will be mapping and defining non-traditional stakeholders’ categories at the national level, that directly impact the cancer primary prevention landscape. Also we will conduct a retrospective literature review of evidence from past military conflicts’ impact in Montenegro on pollution and what correlation can be drawn in terms of cancer incidence. We will lead communication campaigns in order to inform citizens about cancer prevention on a more general basis, considering the national context together with national stakeholders and experts. Our aim is to to reduce East-West inequalities and improve citizen’s willingness to adopt CPP measures and secondary prevention (screening), and to create fundamental changes in terms of ensuring healthy behaviors in Eastern populations.

National Health Institute Doutor Ricardo Jorge

Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA, National Health Institute Doutor Ricardo Jorge) is a public organization of the Portuguese Ministry of Health, endowed with scientific, technical, administrative, financial and property of its own. Founded in 1899 as the laboratory of the Portuguese Health System, INSA´s main goal is to contribute to achieving public health gains, fulfilling a triple role as State Laboratory in the Health Sector, National Reference Laboratory and National Health Observatory. As a partner organization of 4P-CAN, INSA will contribute to several tasks in different Work Packages, including, implementation of scoping reviews of polices and legislative initiatives, development of a cross-national survey to assess individual factors on cancer primary prevention, and evidence review of HPV vaccination, among others.

The General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance

The General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance is a structural subdivision subordinated to the municipal public administration /Chisinau Municipal Council. We serve a number of about 1 million population in the capital City of the Republic of Moldova. The mission of the Directorate consists in implementation of health and social policies, promoting Health prevention, Health literacy and social assistance, assuring people’s health and welfare, improving the quality of life of individuals/families through the implementation of policies, strategies, and national/municipal programs in the field of health and social assistance. Universal access to medical services, especially in primary health care with screening and prevention actions, is a priority area. Thus, the partnership within the 4P-CAN project constitutes a valuable opportunity for the health system of Chisinau including cancer primary prevention measures.

Renasterea Foundation

Renasterea Foundation is a Romanian NGO- Established in September 2001, holding the Public Utility Status by Government Decision, since 2007. Renasterea Foundation initiated in Romania the Awareness and Early Detection of Breast Cancer Program to inform women about the prevention and the risks of breast and cervical cancer and to help the female population suffering from this disease. Unfortunately, Romania has one of the highest incidences of breast and genital cancer among the European countries, and the Foundation’s programs have been intended to cover a wide range of activities in this respect, such as: • Raising awareness of Prevention and Early Detection of Breast and Cervical Cancer; • providing free of charge medical investigations for early detection; • patient navigation; • counseling and treatment support for patients diagnosed with breast and cervical cancer. Renasterea foundation s mission is to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast, cervical and cancer in general, providing free of charge access to screening, diagnosis and counselling for patients and their families. Also, Renasterea Foundation’s activity was focusing on creating a strong partnership between civil society, patients, medical professionals, law makers and public authorities to bring into focus the importance of cancer prevention.
